Routine Medical Transport and Basic Life Support

For the safe and careful transfer of ill and non-ambulatory patients between facilities and to and from home on a non-emergency basis. Always includes skilled patient assessment and monitoring.
Can include oxygen and respiratory assistance. Can include non-invasive cardio pulmonary resuscitation. Routine transport services are usually arranged in advance
by scheduling with the King-American Dispatch Center.


Stand-By Emergency Medical Services

It's a trademark of the City of San Francisco - participation in
community events, whether one-time "happenings" or traditional and annual (e.g. The Examiner's Bay to Breakers foot-race). King-American has been providing Stand-by Emergency Medical Services for public events since the 1915 World Fair in the Marina. King-American also provides Stand-by Emergency Medical Services for major corporate activities and sporting events such as the San Francisco 49ers' football games.

Arrangements for Stand-by Emergency Services can be made by contacting King-American's special event coordinator. Consultation and assistance will be provided to determine the type, number and optimal location for emergency vehicles needed for event.


Paramedic Advanced Life Support

In response to an emergency call to King-American, a paramedic staffed Advanced Life Support (ALS) vehicle is dispatched. An ALS unit is equipped for pre-hospital care needs, including cardiac and respiratory emergencies. Paramedics operate under physician-developed, approved and maintained standard protocols and if necessary, the direction of the base hospital physician.

King-American's emergency response times are scrupulously monitored and the Company is committed to a record which meets the nationally and locally accepted standards.

King-American also participates in an Integrated Response Plan (IRP) with the City and County of San Francisco Department of Public Health, providing a vital function in response to 9-1-1 emergency calls.


Disaster Preparedness and Response

Emergency medical needs are among the most critical during a community-wide disaster. From the 1906 "Big One" to the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, King-American has responded to multi-casualty incidents and community -wide disasters, providing its full staff and complement of vehicles for the highest priority needs.

King-American participates in all local disaster response planning and drills, and is prepared for full support of county and federal emergency officials.

Event Shuttle Service
